Judy Owens

Judy Owens is a seasoned healthcare administrator with over three decades of experience in assisted living facilities and healthcare claims management. She was raised in Ruby, a small town in South Carolina. Her career is marked by a deep-rooted commitment to caring for the elderly population, a passion that has guided her professional journey since the early 1990s.


Judy's professional path began at the Pinedale Residential Assisted Living Facility in Camden, where she quickly rose from Administrative Assistant to Administrator between 1990 and 1996. This early experience laid the foundation for her expertise in elderly care management.

From 1996 to 2014, Judy expanded her healthcare knowledge as a Claim Specialist for Medicare Parts A and B at Blue Cross Blue Shield. This role honed her skills in navigating complex healthcare systems and regulations, further enhancing her ability to advocate for quality care.

In a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to elderly care, Judy simultaneously served as the Administrator for Southwinds Assisted Living facility, a family-owned business, from 2000 to 2023. This dual role showcased her exceptional ability to balance multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high standard of care for residents.

Beyond her professional achievements, Judy is a devoted family woman. She and her husband have built a loving family in Kershaw County, sharing the joy of four children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Judy's commitment to family extends beyond her immediate circle, as she actively participates in her grandchildren's sports activities, cheering them on in soccer and football matches.

When not immersed in her professional duties or family activities, Judy enjoys cooking for her loved ones, embarking on camping adventures, and riding a trike (3-wheel motorcycle) with her husband. These pursuits reflect her zest for life and her ability to find balance between work and personal interests.
